Indigenous Training & Employment Project

This pilot project aims to deliver the following aspects:
 

  • Conduct research, networking and promotional activities to find indigenous, under/un-employed participants in the Adelaide Hills region;
  • Assess participants to determine their competencies and career goals;
     
  • Deliver training to participants, in an individualised manner, which will assist them to gain work experience, employment, re-engagement in schooling and/or enrolment in further education;   
     
  • Provide support and one-on-one case management to participants;
     
  • Conduct research, networking and promotional activities to source prospective employers for participants’; and
     
  • Assist employers of participants to implement an indigenous-friendly workplace.

Indigenous Services Mapping Project

The Adelaide Hills Aboriginal Working Party, comprised of a number of interested agencies in this Region, is working together to identify the services available to local aboriginal people.  Following on from the Indigenous Forum held on 15 November 2007, is an initiative involving the production of a diary and online information that will list the indigenous workers and services available to the Adelaide Hills Community.
