South Australia Works is a workforce development strategy established by the South Australian government. It applies a pro-active approach to skills development and workforce retention that creates an efficient, highly skilled and inclusive workforce.
South Australia Works links people with skills and jobs. It brings together education, training and employment services to ensure all South Australians have the opportunity to develop work skills and get a job. By working in partnership with all levels of government, industry and the community, South Australia Works:
South Australia Works – in the Region helps regional organisations and networks to identify their region’s training and employment needs, and to address them in ways appropriate to each region.
South Australia Works – in the Region focuses on the needs of:
South Australia Works in the Regions operates through seventeen Employment and Workforce Development Networks. These Networks consist of people from the local community, industry, regional economic bodies and Commonwealth, State and Local Governments.
Employment and Workforce Development Networks have been established to:
Regional Development Australia - Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu & Kangaroo Island manages the South Australia Works - in the Regions program for the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island Regions.
The Adelaide Hills Region covers the Adelaide Hills Council and the District Council of Mt Barker local government areas.
The Fleurie Region covers the Local Government areas of Alexandrina Council, District Council of Yankalilla and City of Victor Harbor.
The Kangaroo Island Region covers Kangaroo Island Council Local Government area.
