Adelaide Hills Women's Leadership Program

The Adelaide Hills Women's Leadership Program (AHWLP) is focused on supporting women, who have a role in horticulture, farming, grazing and natural resource management, to become leaders in their fields or the broader community.

The Program has the following components:

  • Growing the networks of Adelaide Hills women who have a role in agricultural and natural resources management;
  • Raising the awareness of women's business and agricultural groups in the Adelaide Hills region;
  • Funding opportunities to undertake leadership training;
  • Providing a link to other training programs that can assist women to grow their business and further their careers;
  • Encouraging women to become leaders; and
  • Providing mentoring and support for women embarking on leadership roles.

How do you become involved in the Program?

There are two ways of becoming involved in the Program:

  1. You can register to attend bi-monthly networking or workshop style events to meet other Adelaide Hills business women, build your skills and to hear from influential female guest speakers involved in the primary production and value-adding industries; and/or
  2. You can nominate to be comsidered for a funded leadership course covering the topics of leadership, planning, communications, governance and 'actioning'.  This component of the Program is now CLOSED.

Current Events

There are two further events planned as part of AHWLP, these are:

  • Women Empowering Women event with the topics: negotiating pay increases; approaching flexibility discussions with employers and working towards work/life balance.  Date currently being settled.
  • Women in Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources event.  Date currently being settled.

Short Leadership Course

The nomination period for the short Leadership Course closed on 30 October 2009.  Twelve candidates were selected and attended the course on 15 December 2009.  Candidates are now receiving a series of individual coaching sessions.    

Conference & Dinner
